Catching Whispers

Gai Saunders

2 - 27 April 2026

Gai Saunders is a multi-media artist working with painting, sculpture and mixed media. She is known for her whimsical and narrative style of dreamlike imagery inspired by the natural world.

Since 1993, when Gai held her first solo exhibition, she has been a finalist in numerous awards and her work is held in private collections across Australia and overseas.

After over three decades, Gai’s next long-awaited solo exhibition revolves around the idea of the indefinable elements of beauty and truth that underlie our very existence.

What is it that we are searching for but feel like we can never really reach?

Like a whisper that isn't quite clear, we strain to understand the essence of it.

Not all understanding is verbal however, and the body of work bought together in Catching Whispers is a visual invitation to the audience to ponder and reflect on this dilemma of the human condition.

Official Opening Saturday, 11 April from 2pm - 4pm

Special performances by violinist Fynn Evans-Ocharern and singer Pearl Saunders
