Shoreline - Continuum & Change

Alison Brown

28 May - 29 June 2026

The rugged beauty and ever-changing rhythms of the Western Australian coastline are explored in Shoreline… Continuum and Change.

This new exhibition by acclaimed ceramic artist Alison Brown is on display in the Bond Store Gallery at Busselton’s Old Courthouse Complex from 28 May to 29 June 2026.

Shoreline features a striking collection of sculptural ceramic works inspired by tidelines, coastal erosion, sea grasses and the layered textures left behind by the ocean.

Working in clay and porcelain, Alison creates tall elliptical forms and richly textured surfaces that reflect the movement and energy of the shoreline. Organic markings and gestural finishes evoke tangled marine remains, weathered rock formations and the constant action of waves shaping the coast over time.

The exhibition invites visitors to slow down and reflect on the connection between landscape, memory and material. Through tactile forms and coastal references, Shoreline… Continuum & Change captures both the strength and fragility of the natural environment.

Visitors to the exhibition will experience works that balance delicacy with endurance, celebrating the beauty found in change, repetition and the ongoing rhythms of nature.

Opening event: Sunday 31 May 2026 - 1.30pm - 3.30pm. Official opening address to be delivered by Stewart Scambler.

The Old Courthouse Complex is open daily from 10am – 4pm (except public holidays) I  Free entry
