Clay Born Creatures – Ceramics of Land and Sea
Day Room Gallery, 8-28 September 2025
Timed beautifully with whale-watching season, Clay Born Creatures brings together the coastal visions of Southwest artists Carol Mulhearn and Rebecca Miller in a vibrant blend of ceramics and painting.
Carol Mulhearn’s sculptural works, often inspired by whales and marine life, combine clay, textiles, wire, and driftwood to evoke the movement and energy of the natural world. Her forms flow with the rhythms of land and sea.
Rebecca Miller’s expressive paintings respond with rich texture, bold colour, and dynamic brushwork. Influenced by aerial landscapes and the coastline of Smiths Beach, her layered canvases celebrate nature’s depth and vitality.
Together the works create a sensory journey - where clay and colour meet, and the spirit of the Southwest comes alive.
