This exhibition showcases a new body of work created over recent months, reflecting artist Gerald Ashcroft’s renewed and deeply personal connection with the landscape. Following a successful season immersed in abstraction, Ashcroft felt an irresistible pull back to nature - to sit quietly within it, to observe, to listen, and ultimately, to paint.

Through these oil paintings of pastoral and coastal scenes, Ashcroft captures the fleeting beauty of light and place with sensitivity and intent. Each work is a meditation on the familiar - landscapes that stir memory and emotion, inviting viewers to reflect on their own experiences of place and time.

Chasing the Light is more than a visual journey; it’s an attempt to awaken a shared sense of wonder, nostalgia, and connection to the natural world.
