ART EXHIBITIONS
Lines of Connection - Day Room Gallery until 5 August
Art by acclaimed Japanese printmaker, Hiroshi Tomihari, is on display in the Day Room Gallery until July. These modern woodblock prints were gifted to the City of Busselton as a symbol of our cross-cultural connection with Sugito. Tomihari is renowned for his innovative approach to the traditional Japanese print, blending subtle colour gradations with simplified forms to create serene, abstracted landscapes and still lifes. His work is characterised by its quiet strength, meditative quality, and refined craftsmanship.
Chasing the Light - Bond Store Gallery ~ 4 - 23 September
Gerald Ashcroft’s upcoming en plein air exhibition, Chasing the Light, showcases stunning South West landscapes. These coastal and pastoral paintings capture the fleeting beauty of early morning and late afternoon light throughout the seasons, from sun-drenched summer beaches to the lush green fields and moody skies of winter.
Brush & Earth - Adventures in Canvas and Clay - Day Room Gallery ~ 8 - 28 September
This fun and creative exhibition presents exquisite works by two local artists who have been life-long friends. Rebecca Miller’s bold, textured landscapes and coastal paintings on canvas are beautiful backdrops for Carol Mulhearn’s quirky, hand-crafted clay creatures.
